The autumn term has seen many exciting activities within the various units and there have been several significant events. We celebrated the 85th anniversary of the opening of the first units, held a successful jumble sale and our Senior Section raised over £900 for the Royal Marsden with their sponsored hike. There are many exciting and challenging adventures planned for next term!
It is with sadness we record the death in September of Joyce Townsend. She was Specky Owl at 11th Brownies for many years and we were sad to say goodbye. The Brownie unit has continued but desperately needs help.
We also have some great news. Emma has successfully completed her “Going Away With” Scheme and will be able to put this to good use over the coming months. Additionally, Lindsay has achieved her 5 year service award and this will be presented at a special Guide service.
At EMC we are lucky to have groups for all the Sections. We have one Rainbow Unit, three Brownie Units, one Guide Unit and one Senior Section Unit. They each have a different programme and badges which they are working towards and exciting activities planned including the Guide and Senior Section trip to Switzerland next summer. There will be fundraising for the trip so that everyone can afford to come. Look out for information next term about upcoming fundraising events.
Without the time and effort of everyone involved, it would not be possible to offer these opportunities to 130 girls and young women at EMC. We always need more volunteers, so if you have any time to spare, please speak to me or email .Thank you.
A big thank you to everyone who supported Epsom Division Senior Section in their recent charity event. We raised over £900 for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. We sold cakes on a Friday evening at EMC and we did a 20km sponsored walk from Dorking to Epsom over the very hilly Surrey hills! It was a lovely sunny Autumn day and we all had a brilliant time. Thank you for your support Alex Lorenz
